A short update…
Work Experience is coming in a weeks time…yay
I’m looking forward to it, although this means I have to go and buy a few new ties but no biggy there.
Still busy as usual, I’m working on my blog and my aircraft section as the design and content of it in the present state is hideous :embarrased: as well as other things. School is going fine at the moment – still a challenge at times as I am admittedly crap at maths, but I still enjoy it all the same.
For a self proclaimed *rubbish designer* (I prefer server side stuff), I hope that the aircraft bit will turn out OK. I’ve been sorting out my Duxford VE Day Anniversary Airshow review and pictures. people have been asking me when my review will be ready (namely Ed
) – Well I’m going to publish it when I sort the aircraft section out. However, I might do it in my next blog post.

My life
This isn’t like my autobiography (yet)..well I’ll write that one day, lol
At present, I have 4 websites to maintain, including my own, tonnes of coursework to do, as well as loads of other stuff which I want to do, but simply don’t have time – you know how it is – you have so much to do, but simply don’t have the time or patience to do it. That’s how I’m feeling right now
I suppose I’ll see good at the end of it, like the light at the end of a tunnel.
ciao

..just noticed, I’m blogging a lot today
Firefox hits 50,000,000 downloads
This is old news to some..but I thought I’d write something about it.
Mozilla Firefox has been a popular alternative to Microsoft’s ailing Internet Explorer for a while now. A few days ago it was announced that firefox has been downloaded over 50,000,000 times – w00t! I never thought it would get that popular to be honest. However, I’ve been using it for about 8 months and I love it. I honestly get scared when I open Internet Explorer, although I have SP2 installed on three of my boxes that have XP Pro installed on them :p
I am happy that Firefox, above all others, has had so much success. I am a supporter of modern web standards, and code all my websites to W3C recommendations. IE has been losing a lot of ground over the last couple of months, as it has out of date, inaccurate or missing support for modern web standards. For one, it has very limited XHTML or XML support. XHTML is supposed to be served as “application/xhtml+xml”, but because of IE’s lack of XML support, it enters what we call quirks mode and then, in effect, renders the whole XHTML concept useless. However, this isn’t the main reason that firefox is gaining so much popularity. On a security front, Internet Explorer is a browser left open to attack if you use it’s default settings. Firefox and Opera act differently on this matter, although firefox isn’t actually that much more secure in comparison to IE.
Although XP’s SP2 tightens IE’s security belt, it still isn’t as secure as firefox is. I personally believe that, although internet explorer still holds the largest percentage of the browser market, it’s useage will continue on a downwards spiral.

Students Voice
Hey,
Now I thought I couldn’t do this..but I did, and I have to do it twice more this week
My latest web project is for my school – Students voice to be exact. Gavin (a friend of mine) and myself wrote a presentation for the official launch of the students voice website. We had been developing it for over 4 months, now it’s almost done. I’m pretty happy about it overall – take a look – http://www.students-voice.co.uk
I haven’t done a presentation for over 2 years – I don’t like public speaking, so thought it would be an achievement to get the launch done
